Wicked Adrenaline, Inc is a big supporter of the female athlete

It's no secret...many of our friends are females
and for good reason. They know we're one of their biggest supporters.
What separates us from 99% of the companyies out there is that we don't
just focus on one genre. One of our biggest efforts is to help support
and promote the female extreme/action athletes out there.

Women
around the world have been participating in extreme or alternative
sports since it's beginning. They have proven their skills, their
determination, and their dedication and have earned the respect of many
of the male counterparts. Unfortunately, they have not been given the
recognition they truly deserve.

We at Wicked Adrenaline, Inc plan to change that!

We
are here for ALL Extreme Sports Athletes and participants (men, women,
boys and girls). We're all Adrenaline Junkies at heart. We plan to
promote the girls of extreme sports and help give them the recognition
they deserve! Keep up the good work girls!

How to get sponsorships...Do's and Don'ts -

	(Part 1 of 13):

We’re quite often asked for sponsorship without any backup as to why. Yet we’re rarely ever asked “how” to get sponsorship.

Because of that we're writing this multi-part
blog to hopefully give you some pointers and insights (to help during your
sponsorship seeking career). While this may not always land you a sponsorship
with a particular company, it will put you in the right direction and allow you
to look more professional.

There's more to getting sponsorship than just asking. We, as a company and as
individuals, have a

	LOT of experience with
sponsorships (both on the receiving end and giving end). Without further ado,
here is the 1st of the Do’s and Don’ts:

1) Don't assume a company will come to you. The key is to be proactive

Always be proactive as opposed to reactive. Assuming that
companies will come to you will just cause you to wait a long time. Unless you’re
a prodigy or just happen to be lucky, the chances are companies will not seek
you out. The key is to identify these companies and start your approach on
getting known or at least getting in the doors. Constant communication with a
company is the idea. An email every 2 or 3 months will not help you in any way.
Keep in touch even just to say hi. The more you keep a company up to date, the
more they get to know you. Lastly, visit the company’s sponsorship page for any
pertinent information that they’re looking for. For example, take a look at http://www.wickedadrenaline.com/sponsorships.php

Remember "Good things come to those that wait, but are the left overs from those who hustle"...and yes slightly worded differently from the original quote (psst...this way just flows nicer!)

Best of luck to you. Stay tuned for Part 2 (check back again soon)

Wicked Adrenaline's New Skateboard Deck

The feedback has been pouring in from around the country all with very
positive results. We had prototypes of our skateboard deck made and
sent them around the country from the West Coast to the East Coast and
everywhere in between to have it tested out. We have not received one
single complaint. There were suggestions and we incorporated them to
now make the best deck out there.

All our prototype decks that
were sent out were blank with no graphics and no indication who the
company was. All our testers gave the deck to their friends and random
people at skateparks. Everyone LOVED it!

Now here's a sneak peak
at our initial deck design. The graphic was inspired by our constant
craving of Adrenaline. We have yet to name the deck...however rest
assured it will have one.

Let us know what you think of the
graphic!!!

How to get sponsorships Do's and Don'ts part 2

OK Part 2 of 13 is below. If you’ve missed part one check out Part 1.

2) Don't ask a company "hey will you sponsor me...I"m good"

Well you know what? Most companies will hit the delete button and not even think twice about your email or PM. You should quantify what you claim. For one, it shows a complete lack of professionalism and really makes you stand out as a newbie. There’s nothing more annoying than someone not showing a company the respect of properly asking for sponsorship. Yes some companies including us at Wicked Adrenaline encourage you to contact us for sponsorship. But do it in a professional manner. To many times do we see emails and messages saying “Hey sponsor me” without even introducing themselves or explaining who they are. In addition, please please please use proper English. It doesn’t help your case when you say something like “yo foos, sponzers me. Ima ‘d sheeeit in BMX. Hit me up cuz I’m a gonna rock it for ya”. And yes this was actually an email we received. Remember, be professional, be courteous, properly introduce yourselves, and make an effort to get to know the company.

Stay tuned for Part 3. Drop us some comments and let us know what you think and/or what else you'd like to see.

How to get sponsorships Do's and Don'ts part 3

OK now that we have Parts 1 and 2 out of the way...here is part 3!

3) Don't believe that you have to have a perfect winning record, 100+ events under your belt, and be in the pro ranks to get sponsorship. Do it right and you can get sponsorship.

Sponsorship is one of the most sought after aspects of any extreme/action sport. Any just about everyone is led to believe that you need to have a flawless record or 100 events or be a pro etc. Granted yes all those have to be met to reach pro sponsorship status...BUT there are other types of sponsorships as well. The key is to understand that you, like most others, have to start somewhere and work your way to the top. Seek out the companies that truly want to give back to the enthusiasts. Like us, these companies want to help as much as possible. Do not be afraid to approach these companies and ask for help. Because unlike others, we will not immediately frown at you or slam the door shut. We've implemented a program that will get you going and get your foot in the door. Check out our sponsorship page for more info.

Companies like this will be willing to help you more than you think. However also keep in mind that there are other factors that you must do before getting sponsorship. Want to know what they are? Simple, keep up to date with this blog series and we'll point you in the right direction and give you excellent pointers. Remember don't go into a company asking for the world because you'll get a whole lot of nothing. If you're just starting out, then express your goals and dreams and what your plan is to achieve them. Show genuine interest and love for your sport. Remember ask these companies for help and advice instead of "hey will you sponsor me". It'll make a big difference. We get tons of emails asking for help and advice and we answer all of them. It's those people that get noticed and ones we keep tabs on.

Remember everyone has to start somewhere. Seek out the companies that you know will help you and keep your expectations realistic. If you've never competed or only have a couple events under your belt...don't go inquiring with a company expecting to receive a lot of freebies!

Cool...stay tuned for part 4. Keep rockin' it out there!!

How to get sponsorship Do's and Don'ts part 4

Below is part 4 of our multi-part series of Do's and Don't of getting sponsorship. For parts 1-3 check out our blog page

4) Unless you're that good...don't assume you will get what you
want from a sponsor right away

Seriously it’s amazing how out of touch in reality a lot of
folks are when it comes to sponsorship. Its one thing to believe in yourself
and you always should, but it’s another to believe you’re a ton better than you
actually are.

 Be honest to yourself and
your sponsorship will follow. It’s interesting watching the less experienced
asking or demanding for everything when they try and get sponsorship. If you’re
a rookie or novice, don’t really expect a whole lot. You’ll need to prove
yourself before the big type sponsorships come your way. Companies will want to
see how dedicated and loyal you are. Just get yourself in the door and then
work your way up. It’s similar to those who take internships at companies. Most
of the time, these interns aren’t paid a single penny. BUT they have their way
in to that company and more often than not get picked up once they graduate. It’s
similar to sponsorship for the rookie, novice or unknown. NEVER NEVER NEVER
expect anything BUT expect to give it everything you have to help that company
that is willing to let you in the door.

Stay tuned for part 5!

How to get Sponsorships Do's and Don't Part 5

If you haven't seen parts 1 through 4 yet...definitely check 'em out. Below is part 5. Read up, learn and go out there and get sponsored!

5) A lot has to do with your character and attitude. Show them that you're an ambassador of your sport and passionate about what you do and they'll be more likely to take a look

Here's a little secret...companies are truly drawn to those that have genuine characters and a true passion for what they do. We can easily see the posers out there. Character has everything to do with your future success. Some companies including Wicked Adrenaline, Inc really look at the character of the individual. In fact, we weight character equal with talent. Give us a person who is genuine with so-so skills and little podium finishes and we'll take them over a person who just "wants" and "needs" and throws out bad vibes but wins every comp out there.

Those with the right character and the right attitude will more often than not succeed due to their passion and perseverance. These are the type of individuals who also give it their all to help others succeed as well. A leader will help others. These are the ones that we love to surround ourselves with. They are not greedy, not needy, willing to accept very little for putting out their hard work, and are ambassadors of their sport.

Keep in mind, YOU are representing a company that sponsors you. You need to act professional, conduct yourselves well and represent to the fullest. Your actions and words reflect back to the companies that sponsor you. They do not want their image tarnished by wrongful acts (either verbal or by action).

Have the right attitude and you will inspire others. Have the right character and you will go far (the sky is the limit). Be an ambassador of your sport and others will listen and watch. Possess and demonstrate all three and your sponsorships will come in!
